The Association’s Groups
“Even from its earliest years, the Masters and Mistresses membership had very eclectic tastes, with many being very heavily into BDSM while others preferred sexual fetish in its many forms.” Jim E. Dickson – Author MMA Handbook.
Over the years, eight groups in particular have developed with some having thousands of members in major countries across the globe.
One of the oldest is Korsetta, a group of corset loving and wearing MMA members which grew steadily out of the Victorian period with a huge peak in membership around 2001/2 with the worldwide release of the movie Moulin Rouge with its female cast wearing them throughout.
Another two of MMA’s groups grew from the Charles Mackintosh’s invention of using rubber to make waterproof rubber clothing back in the early 1800’s which by the late 1800’s had been perfected and items of footwear and clothing became very common, from the beloved welly to the waterproof apron to the rubber raincoat or mackintosh adopting the name of the inventor. The two groups, Rubberists and The Storm, revolve around a love for seeing and wearing rubber clothing, although today’s latex clothing is vastly more diverse thn wet weather gear.
Another relatively newer MMA group are the Domford. This group grew out of a loving of the stereotypical family life of the 1940/50’s with an emphasis as the man being in charge and the provider for the family and the stay at home woman being responsible for the home and children. The Domford practice this lifestyle with the female being being very feminine in style and submissive to the male. Even in the 21st century there are many couples who identify with this lifestyle, and their fetish can even involve dressing in 1950’s period clothing.
